ABOUT BLACK CITY

A dark and tender post-apocalyptic love story set in the aftermath of a bloody war

In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable — they fall in love.

Bonded by a mysterious connection, that causes Ash’s long dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they’re caught they’ll be executed —but their feelings are too strong.

When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths.

HOW TO WIN (AKA ‘NAME THAT OWL!’)

As you can probably tell, I have a slight obsession with owls! And as part of the prize pack I’m giving away one of my beloved Book Owls…but he needs a name. To enter the prize draw, all you need to do is Name That Owl!

Leave your suggestion in the comments section below. You can also send your entry to me via Facebook (leave your suggestion in the FB comments section under the post about this…er…post), or Tweet it to me! I’m @theredpenofdoom. It’s that simple! You can enter as many times as you like. The contest is open internationally, and ends on  Tuesday 14 May. On the 14 May, I will pick my favorite name for the owl, and that person will win the prize pack…so be creative, as I will be personally selecting the winner!

If you leave a comment below, don’t forget to add your email address or twitter handle, so I can get in touch with you!

Good luck!
