Welcome to Spring 2013 YA Scavenger Hunt! I’m so thrilled to be taking part in this year’s event, as part of the RED TEAM!
WHAT IS THE YA SCAVENGER HUNT?
The YA Scavenger Hunt (or YASH for short), it’s a tri-annual event that was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors and win some awesome prizes!
There are two teams: the Red Team and Blue Team. Each team is made up of 25 authors. In addition to hosting the exclusive content, each author on that team will also tell you their favorite number. You’ll need to collect all 25 numbers from that team to enter the grand prize draw, where one lucky winner will receive a signed book from each author on that team! (That’s 25 books per team! ~flails~). You can enter one or both teams’ contests. Details are below. But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!
For information on all the authors participating in the hunt, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.
HOW DO I ENTER THE SCAVENGER HUNT?
Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number, highlighted in red. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the red team, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).
Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the entry form on the YA Scavenger Hunt website to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
The contest begins on 4 April, noon, Pacific Standard Time. Don’t begin the hunt before then, as all the posts won’t be live! Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by April 7, noon, Pacific Standard Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.
SCAVENGER HUNT POST
Today, I am hosting Stephanie Keyes on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!
Stephanie Keyes has been addicted to Fantasy since she discovered T.H. White as a child and started drumming up incredible journeys in her head. Today, she’s still doing the same thing, except now she gets to share those ideas with readers!
When she’s not writing, Stephanie is also a graphic designer, international speaker, teacher, musician, avid reader, and Mom to two little boys who constantly keep her on her toes. In addition, she’s best friend to her incredible husband of eleven years.
Stephanie holds an undergraduate degree in Business and Management Information Systems from Robert Morris University and a M.Ed. from Duquesne University. She is a member of the Society For Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), as well as a featured author in the global group of writers, Love a Happy Ending.com.
Stephanie is the author of the YA Fantasy series, The Star Child, which currently includes The Star Child (September 2012) and The Fallen Stars (April 2013), both released by Inkspell Publishing. She is currently hard at work on the third book in the trilogy, The Star Catcher.

STEPHANIE’S BOOK – THE FALLEN STARS
The world is about to be cloaked in darkness. Only one can stop the night.
Kellen St. James has spent his entire life being overlooked as an unwanted, ordinary, slightly geeky kid. When the sudden death of his Gran takes him from the East coast to the rugged cliffs of Western Ireland, all that changes. That is until a beautiful girl, one who has haunted his dreams for the past eleven years of his life, shows up spinning tales of a prophecy. Not just any old prophecy either, but one in which Kellen plays a key role.
Suddenly, Kellen finds himself on the run through a Celtic underworld of faeries and demons, angels and gods, not to mention a really ticked off pack of hellhounds, all in order to save the world from darkness. But will they make it in time?
Like the sound of The Fallen Stars? You can buy the book here.
The hunt is now over, so the exclusive content has been taken down. Thanks for playing.
